Queens of Code Launch—GO TEAM!
9 Ways You Can Help Support the Queens of Code Book Launch
Thank you for being part of the Queens of Code launch team. Your support helps spread the word, build excitement, and introduce the book to more readers. Below are some simple ways you can help.
1. Share the Cover
Post the book cover on your social media accounts like facebook and linkedin and tell your friends and family why you’re excited about Queens of Code. A simple caption and image can help create early buzz.
Tip: Tag the author and use the launch hashtag: @EileenBuckholtz #QueensofCode @mitpress #stem #womenintech #historyofcomputing #womeninstem
2. Post About the Book on Release Day
On launch day November 17th, share a post letting others know the book is now available. You can include a short message about why you want people to read it.
Example:
“Today’s the day! Queens of Code is officially out. If you love inspiring stories, check it out!”
3. Buy the Book and Leave an Honest Review
Buy the book and read it. If you like the book, leaving an honest review on Amazon, Goodreads, or another retailer is one of the most helpful things you can do.
Reminder: Keep reviews genuine, respectful, and based on your true reading experience.
4. Request the book from your library
Ask your local library (or online library) to purchase Queens of Code.
5. Recommend the Book to Friends and Family
Word-of-mouth matters. Tell people in your life who enjoy books like Queens of Code and encourage them to check it out. For former NSAers, this is your memory book! Give the book as a holiday gift to family and friends.
Tip: Personal recommendations often mean more than ads.
6. Mention the Book in Online Groups
If it fits and is allowed by the group rules, mention Queens of Code in book clubs, reading groups, or online communities. Let me know if your book club wants me to zoom in!
Important: Always follow group guidelines and avoid spammy posting.
7. Use Your Email List or Newsletter
If you have an email list, you can send a short note about the launch. Let your subscribers know why you recommend the book.
Keep it brief: A short message and purchase link are enough.
8. Share Behind-the-Scenes or Favorite Quotes
Post a favorite quote, a takeaway, or a behind-the-scenes thought about the book. This helps others connect with the message and themes.
Example:
“Loved this line from Queens of Code—it’s powerful, inspiring, and worth reading.”
9. Engage With Author’s Posts
Like, comment on, and share the author’s posts on Facebook.com and Linkedin.com. Engagement helps more people see the book online. Follow and connect on these sites.
